Fashion label AKINN by renowned Singapore fashion designer Wykidd Song returns home, to the city with its latest capsule collection, City Layers — an assured line-up of extraordinarily crafted designs with intentional styles in form, fit, and function tailored for and elevated quintessential classic staples — all in minimalism, contemporary aesthetics, and modern sensibilities.

A City layered in Modernity

City Layers by AKINN is a veil of individuality and self-expression — that visually distinctive fusion of minimalist designs with a graceful overlap between tradition and modernity, archived proportions to new silhouettes, clean lines to detailed finishes, soothing to vibrant hues, and soft volumes to fluidity.

The latest collection is weaved together and elevated in modernity through the interplay of softly tailored structures with diverse layers in all forms and functions, from the essence, rhythm, and stories of its muses of the homegrown label — like an orchestrated symphony of the City in layers upon layers upon layers. 

While AKINN moves fashion forward, enveloping itself in these layers of modernity, it stays firmly true to its roots, underlined with timeless wearability with vibrant colors, conscious textures, patterns, and softly tailored silhouettes that go beyond trends or seasons as carried through in these pieces of the collection.

The Archives of AKINN

What is old is new again. Three decades on from the launch of Song + Kelly, The Archives of AKINN has come as a natural progression for the brainchild of AKINN and the co-founder of Song + Kelly, Wykidd Song.

AKINN revives the archives, drawing styles from the renowned Singaporean designer’s trademark cues of tailored and chic silhouettes while being conservative with an edge into a selection of its archival pieces in AKINN City Layers — a nexus of modernity and timeless classics that have proven to be customer favorites.

AKINN takes a leap backwards to move forward in modernity with its archival WARRIOR WRAP DRESS. The contemporary sleeveless dress named by the brand’s muse and true style warrior, Sharon Au, is reissued in a soft structured fabric, unveiling a new dimension of its duality, with its wrap at the front or back for effortless two-way styling, striding through the day and into the evening.

Inspired by Wykidd's design archives, the high-comfort and popular XIA OVERLAP VEST TOP is revisited in two new seasonal colors (Coral and Wheat) in addition to its core black color. It is cut from one continuous piece of tencel, overlapped and double-layered in the front, with the back in a single, translucent layer, to sit comfortably on the hips.
