NEW YEAR, NEW STRENGTH

2021 was a strange one. I thought 2020 was a strange year, well it was, in so many unprecedented and inexperienced ways, so we thought, it can’t get any worse than that, well…

I started the year with such positivity, because this was the year where we could shove ‘new normal’ aside and go back to shouting over loud thumping music, have energetic, boisterous and creative meetings in the workplace, dress up for events and scream ‘YUM SENG’ at wedding parties. Instead, we broke our hearts and watched India as they fought the deadly Delta variant, bewildered at why the military junta of Myanmar took its country back to its dark ages, shuddered as the Taliban strolled back into power. And we only just peered our heads out from WFH (work-from-home) default, our travel plans are as smooth as last year’s cursed HK – SG travel bubble, and we are still wearing masks, albeit less homemade garish ones.

Of course, 2021 was also the year of hope and optimism. This was the year where we started to arm (literally) ourselves against this dreaded pandemic and fight back with 2 + 1 shots. We launched 4 successful capsules including our sustainability story with Inch Chua; our supply chain still has some COVID hiccups but they are largely back to normal, Britney is finally free and one of our team is expecting!

2022 is the year of the Tiger. The year of affirmative change, where we have the will and courage to push ahead and accomplish what were shelved goals. Opportunities for more compelling stories, inspiring collaborations, and designs for all occasions. This year will especially be for all of us to come together, in person, and embrace and see us all smile.
